Some Common Chiropractic Equipment

There are a lot of different types of chiropractic equipment that you will find in their offices today.  You may even wonder what some of it is called or how some of it works.  While these things may seem high tech and intimidating to you now, once you understand the equipment a bit better you will find that these things really aren’t that scary after all.  Instead, you will actually be looking forward to the benefits that you can reap.

Computerized Traction Tables

A computerized traction table is able to relieve any back or neck pain that is caused by pressure from your spine.  This looks like a table but it actually pulls, stretches and relaxes the various parts of your spine.  In the past these tables would work too fast but now they are able to move much slower and be controlled much better so that you aren’t made uncomfortable.  Your chiropractor will strap you onto this machine then slowly pull on your body to cause spinal decompression so that your spinal cord returns to its normal length and alignment, your muscle spasms are lessened or eliminated and any pressure on your nerves, especially those within your spine, is relieved.

The BioDex Balance System

This system is designed to improve your balance, increase your agility and develop your muscle tone.  It allows for both static and dynamic training.  There are also a wide variety of training methods available.  This machine has a moving plate that you stand on as it shuffles so that you build up your muscles and coordination.  In this way it will improve your coordination, balance and muscles in your knees, ankles, hips and lower back in about six to eight weeks.

A Free Motion Dual Cable Cross

This machine is oftentimes found in the gym.  It has two cables that can be positioned in various ways depending upon what part of body you want to exercise.  Weight is then assigned to the cables before you pull on them so that your body can be rehabilitated and you can also undergo movement training.

The Power Plate

This is a vibration machine that stimulates the way that your brain naturally responds.  Whenever you stand upon this machine and do regular exercises the vibration will intensify the muscle strain, creating a stronger workout in less time.  It will also create an unstable feeling that will help you with both your coordination and balance.
